How is a Handicap Index calculated?
Each round gets a Score Differential: (113 ÷ Slope) × (Score − Course Rating). Your Index is the average of your best 8 differentials from your most recent 20 rounds.
What if I have fewer than 20 rounds?
You need at least 3. With fewer rounds, fewer differentials count (for example, 3 rounds uses your best one, minus 2).
Which score should I enter?
Your adjusted gross score: cap each hole at net double bogey (par + 2 + any strokes you get on that hole).
Is this my official handicap?
No. It is an estimate using the World Handicap System formula. Your official Index comes from your golf association.
