FAQ
What is a skin?
Each hole is worth one skin. The lowest score on the hole wins it. If two or more players tie for low, nobody wins it.
How do carryovers work?
With carryovers on, a tied hole rolls its skin into the next hole, so the next outright winner takes them all. Skins still tied after the last hole go unclaimed.
Net or gross skins?
Gross uses actual scores. Net subtracts handicap strokes first, so higher handicaps can win holes too.
How are handicap strokes given?
Strokes go on the hardest holes first, using each hole’s handicap (stroke index) from the scorecard. A 5 handicap gets a stroke on the five hardest holes. Plus handicaps give strokes back on the easiest holes.
How is the settle-up worked out?
Every other player pays the winner the skin value for each skin won. The calculator nets it all out into the fewest payments.
